Heidi Klum is a German actress who was born in the city of Bergisch Gladbach, Germany on the 1st June 1973. The mother of Heidi Klum Erna worked as a hairdresser. Their father Gunther Klum was the executive for a cosmetics business. Heidi's dad was a former production manager at the 4711 fragrance firm. Heidi grew in Bergisch Gladbach which is a town with a population of 100,000, just 6 miles east of Cologne. Heidi Klum is a former German-American fashion model who now has a job as a TV host as well as a fashion producer. Karin her girlfriend, who was her 18-year-old student during that time, advised Klum to take part in an German talent show named Model 92. The German women's publication Petra supported the show, which was hosted by Thomas Gottschalk as part of his late-night talkshow. Klum had to compete against 25,000 contestants across Germany and Europe before she became one of the three semifinalists. In April 1992 she won the biggest prize in modeling, $300,000.
